‘A Sting In A Tale’ Premieres in Accra

By wug on Tuesday, 10th November 2009

Sparrow Productions over the weekend added to the rise in movie screening in Ghana with a public premiere of its latest movie, A Sting In A Tale at the International Conference Centre in Accra.

The movie was shown on both Friday and Saturday night. This was after an executive premiere for Coperate bodies at the Silverbird Cinema a week earlier.

An official source also told BEATWAVES yesterday that the movie would further be premiering at various tertiary school campuses across the country.

This includes the University of Ghana, Legon, on Thursday and Friday. That same Friday, there will be another screening at the Methodist University.

Subsequently, the screening wagon is scheduled to go to the Central University College and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) respectively, among other Universities.

Last Friday’s premiere attracted the crème de la crème of Ghana’s entertainment industry.

Among them were the cast; Majid Michel, Adjetey Anang, Lydia Forson, Joselyn C-Dumas, David Oscar, Veteran actor Solomon Sampa and the movie’s director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso.

Other celebrities at the event were Jackie Appiah and husband Peter Agyemang, Kalsoume Sinare, 4×4, VIP, Pascaline Edwards, Irene Opare, Naa Ashokor Doku, Ekow Smith Asante, Akorfa Esiedu Ejeani and a horde of others. Their presence undoubtedly made the event a memorable one.

Reminiscent of the audience at the earlier executive premiere at the Silverbird Cinema, movie enthusiasts who trooped to the Conference Centre last Friday watched the movie with much delight.

A Sting In A Tale, a must see movie, tells a twisted tale of two unemployed graduates, Kuuku (Adjetey Anang) and Nii Aryee(Majid Michel) who embark on a journey to make it in a world where one need more than what he or she has to get what he or she wants to succeed. Driven by a fear of poverty, these two friends go in search of a destiny.

Full of thrills and suspense, what transpires after is what movie fans saw for themselves when all three lead characters turned into ghosts.

Except for a few minutes of poor sound, last Friday’s premiere was a smooth one.
