NDC Delegates Chase Out MP

By wug on Monday, 16th November 2009

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Awutu Senya Constituency in the Central Region, Mr. David Nana Larbi, received the shock of his life at Bawjiase in the Central Region yesterday, when he was chased out from the party delegates’ conference to elect new executives for the party in the constituency.

The entire delegates rejected the MP when he was asked to swear-in the newly-elected executives into office.

Amidst shouting, hooting and the use of unprintable words, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP was declared an unwanted man in the constituency.

According to them, the MP was untruthful, ungrateful, and above all, was not interested in about the welfare of their members in the constituency.

The NDC legislator, who was furious with the action of the delegates, described them as fools.

The agitation of the delegates came to the climax, when the MP sought to denigrate the party members, instead of being apologetic.

The Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Habib Dramani, together with the police personnel, whisked the MP away in his car.

The party members accused the MP of being a mole in the party.

According to them, he was a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), but not a genuine NDC member, and that he had encouraged the NPP to make a mockery of the NDC in the constituency.

The party delegates, who were not ready to compromise on the agitation against the MP, said, “We don’t know him. He is not our MP. Ever since he was elected, he has never come to the constituency to say thank you.”

The party delegates declared that they don’t need any apology from the MP.

Mr. Jacob Allotey, Propaganda Secretary for the Central Region, however, later swore in the newly-elected executives.

The Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Habib Dramani, was returned unopposed.

He pledged his readiness to work hard for the party, not only at the constituency level, but beyond. He urged the delegates to remain loyal to the party.
