Mills Will Succeed – Spio

By wug on Wednesday, 2nd December 2009

spio_garbrah2A Leading Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Telecommunication Organization (CTO), Dr. Ekwow Spio-Gabrah, who recently caused a stir within the ruling government with his infamous article in the Daily Graphic, has told newsmen at Bogoso in the Western region that the Atta Mills government was capable of solving problems confronting the country.

Dr. Spio Gabrah, who contested the NDC flagbearership race and lost, noted that with the track record of the ruling NDC government, the latter has no justification or reason to fail Ghanaians. He pointed out that no matter how bad the NDC government may perform; the government under the President John Evans Atta Mills would succeed and do far better than the NPP government. “The NDC government, under President Mills will succeed by 2012, and the populace will yearn for NDC to serve them again’.

This is because President Mills would not sit unconcerned for the Ministers he has chosen not to serve the interest of the ordinary Ghanaian voter, and to embark on what he described as ‘chopchopcratic and cocainecracy’ errand to enrich themselves and their families as it pertained under the regime of the NPP.

Dr. Spio-Gabrah alleged some of the NPP Ministers used government machinery to embark on massive looting and sale of lands during their regime to enrich themselves and their families which was unprecedented in the history of Ghana. To him NPP came to government to enrich thelselves and their families, and not the ordinary man.

Spio, who has declared his intention to contest the vice chairmanship position of the NDC when it goes to congress early next year believes that if the Ghanaian voter is able to access the difference between the NPP and the NDC governments with respect to the philosophy the two parties believe in, the voter would eventually come to prefer NDC to NPP.

This, he explained, would mean that the voter would come to understand that the NDC was human centered and cares for the ordinary man on the street whilst the opposite was the NPP which believes in property owning society.

To him, President Mills cares about the ordinary Ghanaian and appealed to voters to try as much as possible to look deep within to find out what motivated President Mills to go round the breath and length of our country to campaign to assume the high office of the land.

‘We are pleading with Ghanaians to try and look into the mind of Mills to know what motivates him to occupy the high office’. Spio believes that if this step is taken, Ghanaians would ever cherish voting for Mills, since the latter is bent on solving the problems of the ordinary man. Touching on the unity of the party, Dr. Gabrah noted that the NDC party was significantly united and could become more united ahead of 2012 when differences within the party were resolved.
